DETERMINATION OF HEALTH SERVICES KNOWLEDGE LEVELS OF HEALTH MANAGEMENT STUDENTS: ANKARA UNIVERSITY EXAMPLE
Abstract
The aim of this study is to determine the current knowledge level of health management students
about the Health Services Management Course. The sample of the research consists of 234
students in Ankara University Health Management Department between 01 November 2021 –
31 December 2021. Questionnaire questions were prepared by the researchers in line with their
current knowledge levels and the information they obtained from the literature review. Descriptive
statistics and chi-square analyzes were used in the analysis of the data. 25 questions were asked
to students about health services management. It was determined that the average achievement
score of the students was 45.61 (highest score=96; lowest score=4). Likewise, the socio-demographic
characteristics of the students and their achievement scores were compared in the study. Except
for gender, it was seen that all other factors (class, grade point average, taking the health services
management course and following current developments) and success scores were related. It was
determined that those who took the health services management course, those with a high grade
point average, those who were in the fourth year and those who stated that they followed the
current developments had higher levels of success. Finally, it has been determined that the most
successful subject of the students is the questions about the procedures and principles of health
services delivery in Turkey and the organizational structure, while the most unsuccessful subject is
the questions about some prominent health policies.
