Productıvıty Management ın Healthcare Instıtutıons: Example of Pharmacy
The role of productivity in enhancing national prosperity is recognized by all today. However, some health institutions cannot use both human and capital resources effectively and efficiently. In order to increase efficiency, rapidly changing internal and external factors should be taken into account and the capacity of the health organization should be planned to keep up with changes. Measurement of the productivity or the performance of any size, is an indispensable part of any efficiency improvement efforts. The reason for this, “the only thing that can be measured can be managed” is the truth. In this study, the legal dimension of pharmacists, who are one of the healthcare service providers, was examined, and productivity measurements were made using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method of three pharmacy branches.
