SYSTEMATIC COMPILATION OF ECONOMIC EVALUATION STUDIES CONDUCTED IN TURKEY BETWEEN 1999-2022
ABSTRACT
Health technology assesment is the comparative analysis of alternative technologies, costs and results. The main function of economic assesment is to identify, measure, evaluate and compare the costs and consequences of the alternatives under consideration. Health technology assesment has many dimensions such as clinical effectiveness, economic evaluation, safety legal, ethical, sociocultural and organizational dimensions. The aim of this study is to provide an overview of the subject by examining the economic assesment studies conducted in Turkey between January1999 and March 2022 with the systematic review method. PRISMA-P method was followed in the preparation of the systematic evaluation study. Scope of work; Among the 196 articles published between January 1999 and March 2022 in the YÖK National Thesis Center, DergiPark and TRDİZİN databases, 37 scientific publications that were found suitable according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria were examined. Of the reviewed publications, 25 are cost-effectiveness, 7 are cost-benefit studies, and 5 are cost minimization studies. It is noteworthy that a total of 37 economic assesment studies were carried out in a period of approximately 23 years. In today’s world, where new technologies are being developed rapidly, it is recommended to carry out more economic assesment studies, especially in areas where the disease burden is high and which has a significant impact on the increase in health expenditures.
